Terms of Use

CRUZA (the “App”) is published by Sherar Genius, LLC d/b/a Crosslingual Editions (the “Publisher”, “we”, “us”). These Terms govern your use of the App. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Your license to use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App and its puzzles, clues, and other content for your own language learning. The content is licensed, not sold, to you. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App or its content, except as allowed by law.

Accounts

The App works anonymously by default. You may optionally link an email to back up and sync your progress across devices using a one-time login code. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure, as it controls access to your synced data and any unlocked content.

Free content, purchases, and book codes

• The daily puzzle and a selection of starter books at each level are free.
• Additional books may be unlocked by a one-time in-app purchase or with a redemption code. In-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms, are one-time (not subscriptions), and unlock the corresponding content for your account. Refunds are handled by the relevant app store under its policies.
• Redemption codes printed in or supplied with our books unlock the matching puzzle book in the App. Codes are for the purchaser's personal use, are tied to the account that redeems them, and may have a limited number of redemptions. Codes are not for resale and may be voided if abused, duplicated, or obtained improperly. We recommend linking an email to preserve access to unlocked content.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to circumvent content access controls, share or publish redemption codes, scrape or bulk-extract content, or interfere with the App's operation or other users.

Intellectual property

The App, its design, and its puzzles, clues, and word lists are owned by the Publisher and protected by intellectual-property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Educational content; no warranty

The App is provided for language learning “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Translations, clues, and grammatical information are provided for learning and may contain errors; they are not a substitute for professional or certified translation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Publisher will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or progress, arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the prior twelve months.

Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time in the App at Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Effective date” above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the Publisher is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
